Rough Guides asked us to build an ecommerce platform that allows their customers to purchase digital versions of their travel guides. A core requirement of this platform was the ability to apply light DRM watermarks to each ebook at the time of purchase.
For Rough Guides, the benefits of this system are hugely important. Without it, they would not be able to sell travel guides on their own website and instead have to rely on third party retailers that will take a cut from every ebook sold. The information stored in these watermarks helps trace the origin of the ebooks in the event they are illegally distributed online, protecting them from piracy.

Discover Margam Tourism App [visit]

Margam Country Park is a major tourist attraction within the South Wales region. The park landscape encompasses an array of important historical sites including Margam Castle, Orangery and Abbey. The park is famous for its large fallow deer herd, and offers family activities including walking trails, a farm trail, family mountain biking, orienteering, geocaching and children’s play areas. Numerous TV programmes have been filmed there, including Dr Who, Merlin and Torchwood.
Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council engaged Ecommnet to deliver an app which would:
*Showcase and promote Margam Country Park’s history, nature, activities and film set locations;
*Appeal to the target market and attract new visitors to the park;
*Include a competitive element to create a buzz and generate repeat and longer visits;
*Project a positive contemporary image for Margam as a visitor destination; and
*Be easy to update, to create new experiences year on year.
The resulting Android and iPhone app, developed by Ecommnet, includes maps, photos, challenges, videos and audio clips to enhance the visitor experience. The app works both online and offline so that users are not inhibited by the unreliable 3G signal around the park, and syncs when a data connection is available. Content is available in both English and Welsh languages, and administrators can update it easily via a web-based interface.

Rough Guides, the leading publisher of travel and reference guides, chose Ecommnet to complete a major overhaul and relaunch of their popular website, where travellers can find inspiration on worldwide destinations, read features and get great travel advice.
From technical requirements analysis through to implementation and performance testing, Ecommnet’s development team was focussed on delivering an extensive set of features including online shop, traveller community, and rich media galleries. A complex but user friendly interface powers the back-end, with a carefully controlled publish & approval workflow, and integration with legacy product databases. Smart Raspberry Cookery School specialises in providing cookery parties, workshops and classes for children with the aim of teaching them how to cook nutritious food from scratch, helping them to learn a valuable life skill. They came to us wanting a website overhaul incorporating an online booking system for their classes.
Ecommnet accomplished this by harnessing the power of WordPress and multiple plugins, primarily WooCommerce and The Events Calendar. After some bespoke development and design, the system now allows Smart Raspberry to add classes and allows the users to book classes and make payments easily all within a more visually engaging, on-brand website.

Nick Leventis is a British racing driver and founder of Strakka Racing. Nick competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship which includes the world renowned 24 Hours of Le Mans. Through our working relationship with Elan PR, we were approached by Nick Leventis to create him an updated website with the brief “interesting, engaging and quirky”.
In order to fulfill that brief, we decided to go down a parallax route with full screen, high impact images and videos of Nick and his car. Although the design is very bespoke, we were able to integrate it into a WordPress CMS, meaning editing and adding content is easy. Both ourselves and Nick Leventis were very happy the final outcome of the site.

Ecommnet came up with the solution of using CMS based web pages and wrapping and deploying it using Kiosk Pro. In-keeping with their design and branding guidelines, Ecommnet designed and implemented an interactive kiosk app for Leeds Building Society and implemented Sophos UTM alongside this to secure and manage the network.
This gave Leeds Building Society a wealth of features including:
